The development team at The Creative Assembly and publisher SEGA are preparing for the launch of a new downloadable content for Total War: Attila, called The Last Roman, and the two companies are ready to show fans of the title the campaign map that they will be able to conquer when the new DLC is launched on June 25.

The focus is on Western Europe in the year 533 AD, with 100 regions and 35 full provinces that gamers can conquer and develop, with a range of unique geographical features based on Italy, Spain, France and North Africa.

The Last Roman is designed to reflect a new timeframe, which means that various locations are very different from the ones gamers know from the classic Total War: Attila campaign.

CA can make campaign map tool, sound modding tool and battlemap tools and unit adding tools, but it is almost 100% chance that CA won't make a map editor for attila, but they have the opportunity to make them for future historical titles, since they have said modding for warhammer is out of the question.
  3. Campaign Map Flickering Shadows on Trees Does anyone have a fix for this? I know it's a pretty common thing with Attila, I don't have this issue with any other Total War game, and it's very distracting when certain trees, particularly the ones in northern Europe, flicker whenever I move the camera.

The new campaign will give them a chance to play as five factions that are re-designed from the ground up, with new starting locations and unit line-ups.

The Creative Assembly is making Belisarius, one of the most capable military minds of his generation, the core character of The Last Roman for those who want to play as the Eastern Romans.

Gamers will be able to use resources of the surviving Roman Empire to try and take control of the Western part of the faction, which is at the moment dominated by a range of barbarian powers.

The Ostrogoths will offer an interesting gameplay challenge

The Last Roman for Total War: Attila might be centered around Roman characters, but each of the four barbarian nations will have its own unique challenges and interesting gameplay mechanics.

For example, the Ostrogoths have to deal with a succession issue and the fact that it cannot dominate its provinces as the Romans did earlier.

The Creative Assembly states, 'The murder of the young king's pro-Roman mother has given Emperor Justinian the 'casus belli' he needs to reconquer Italy and reclaim the ancient seat of Imperial power. So, the future of the Ostrogoths remains uncertain - but no Roman will wrest this hard-won land from their iron grasp without a fight!'

Total War: Attila offers a realistic take on the decline of the Roman Empire, and even if the development team is working on a new Warhammer-based title, it still plans to continue to offer DLC and patches for it.
